Updated September 2026

Worker Wisdom℠ is published by New England Human Capital LLC. This policy explains what information the site collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it.

Please read this first. Worker Wisdom publishes general information about employment law. It is not legal advice, and using this site — including sending a message through a contact form — does not create an attorney-client relationship. Do not send confidential information about your situation through this website. Communications sent through the site are not privileged and may not be treated as confidential. If you need advice about your own circumstances, consult an employment attorney licensed in your state.

Information Collected Automatically

Like nearly every website, this site records certain information whenever a page loads. That includes your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, the pages you viewed and how long you stayed, the site or search engine that referred you, and the date and time of your visit.

This information is collected through server logs and through Google Analytics. It is used to understand which articles are useful, diagnose technical problems, and keep the site secure. It is not used to identify you personally.

Information You Provide

Comments. If you leave a comment, the site stores the name and email address you enter, your IP address, and your browser’s user agent string, along with the comment itself. Your name and comment are visible publicly. Your email address is not. Comments and their metadata may be retained indefinitely so that follow-up replies can be recognized automatically.

Contact and question forms. If you use the contact form, the site collects whatever you enter — typically your name, email address, and your message. This is used only to respond to you.

Again: please don’t include confidential details about your employment situation. A message sent through this site is not privileged.

Email subscription. If you subscribe, the site collects your email address and stores it with the email service used to send the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, and doing so removes you from the list.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses them in three ways.

Necessary cookies keep the site working — remembering whether you’ve accepted a notice, and storing your name and email if you leave a comment so you don’t have to retype them.

Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics and record how visitors move through the site in aggregate.

Advertising cookies are set by Google and its advertising partners, described in the next section.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may cause parts of the site to stop working.

Advertising

This site displays ads served through Google AdSense. Google requires publishers to disclose the following, and it accurately describes what happens:

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also serve ads on this site. You can opt out of personalized advertising from many participating vendors at aboutads.info/choices or networkadvertising.org.

Opting out stops ads from being personalized. It does not stop ads from appearing.

How Information Is Used

Collected information is used to operate and improve the site, respond to messages, send the newsletter to people who asked for it, display advertising, understand traffic patterns, and protect against spam and abuse.

Who Information Is Shared With

Personal information is not sold.

It is shared with the service providers needed to run the site: the web host, the analytics provider, the email service, and the advertising networks described above. Each of these handles data under its own privacy policy.

Information may also be disclosed if required by law, by subpoena, or by court order, or where necessary to protect legal rights or the safety of others.

How Long Information Is Kept

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely. Contact form messages are kept as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in Google Analytics.

Your Rights

If you’re in the United States. Twenty states now have comprehensive consumer privacy laws in effect, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah and Virginia. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information is held about you, to obtain a copy of it, to correct it, to have it deleted, to opt out of its sale or of targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA. This site does not sell personal information as that term is defined in the CCPA, and does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

If you’re outside the United States. Visitors from the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and other jurisdictions with similar laws may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. The legal bases relied on are consent (for the newsletter and for non-essential cookies), legitimate interests (for site operation, security and analytics) and legal obligation.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@workerwisdom.com. You may be asked to verify your identity before a request is fulfilled.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Browsers vary in how they send Do Not Track signals and there is no agreed standard for responding to them. This site honors the Global Privacy Control signal where it is received and where applicable law requires it.

Children

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through this site, email contact@workerwisdom.com and it will be deleted.

Security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect information collected through this site, including encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and no absolute guarantee can be given.

Articles link to government agencies, courts and other outside websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies and this policy does not apply to them.
